Examples of actions qualifying for the Award of Merit might include providing outstanding genealogy lectures, authoring or editing scholarly publications, compiling outstanding finding aids such as censuses or indexes, or rendering exemplary service as an officer in a genealogy/family history related organization. Some examples of actions qualifying for the Certificate of Appreciation might include hosting or coordinating a genealogy/family history related conference; providing significant assistance towards the preservation of genealogical records; or, an outstanding contribution to an institution made by a librarian, archivist, or administrator.

Neither submitters nor nominees need be members of MoSGA. As much as we would like to, MoSGA cannot reward every nominee. Therefore, we will gladly re-consider nominations for individuals or institutions previously recommended who have not received a MoSGA award. Please send your nomination(s) to the Awards Committee, care of MoSGA, at P.O. Box 833, Columbia, MO 65205-0833. The deadline for receipt of nominations is June 1, 2015. There is also an online form here.

We look forward to receiving your nominations and thank you for your assistance. We hope that you will be able to join us at MoSGA’s annual conference and awards banquet. MoSGA’s 2015 Annual Conference will be held August 7-8 at The Stoney Creek Inn in Columbia, Missouri. Judy G. Russell, The Legal Genealogist is our keynote speaker. Recipients need not be present at the banquet to receive an award.
