SPECIAL CENSUS ENUMERATIONS, 1867-2004

Finding aid for special census enumerations taken to determine the populations of Missouri cities and towns when a substantial increase/decrease had occurred since the previous federal census. Files generally include papers relating to the commission and execution of the census; occasionally a copy of the actual census is enclosed:

Note: Finding aid is not clear as to whether these "actual enumerations" are purely statistical in nature or include names of persons (I think the smart money would assume that they are purely statistical in nature). Still, one might be helpful if you or your society is writing a local history of a Missouri community.
