Yes, folks, only 850 days until the release of the 1940 census!

The link takes you to a National Archives countdown page, where you can actually sit and watch the seconds tick by until release day finally arrives!

This will be a new day in genealogy - a digitally released census. The days waiting for the microfilm are past. I remember the 1930 census release. Our library had purchased the microfilm, but on the day of the release an Ancestry employee was is Washington, DC, to accept the delivery of the first 3 rolls of his company's order. He then got on a plane bound for Utah and by the end of the day we saw the first of the images online. That day changed genealogy forever.
