THE SHIFTING SANDS OF TIME

Alec Ross was a dispatch rider for the British Long Range Desert Group in Northern Africa during World War II. In 1941, he lost a leather satchel containing some official materials and personal papers in the desert while making a delivery.

Cut to 2008: an Egyptian tour guide leading a group in the desert stumbles across the leather satchel, which the desert wind has brought to the surface once again. The tour guide checks the Internet, discovers who Alec Ross was and where he was from, and hand delivers the leather satchel to Ross’s sister, Iren Porter, in Lancashire, England (Ross died in 2005):
